THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Esprit International School is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Beginnings program, designed specifically for children aged 18 months to 3 years old. This program aims to provide a Montessori education through a nurturing and stimulating environment.

The Montessori education philosophy fosters independence, self-discipline, and cultivates a love for learning in children. Our program creates an environment that encourages exploration and discovery with an approach that equips children with valuable skills and attitudes that will serve them well in an ever-evolving society.

The Beginnings program is tailored to support the developmental milestones of toddlers. Young children ages 0-3 are experiencing a period of rapid development, during which they are highly receptive to their surroundings. This phase, referred to as "The Absorbent Mind" by Maria Montessori, is characterized by sensitive periods where children have a strong urge to engage in specific activities repeatedly until they achieve mastery. To support this developmental stage, our environment is thoughtfully designed to offer children the freedom to choose materials that cater to their current sensitive periods, within clearly defined boundaries. This developmental stage offers a valuable opportunity for children to learn about teamwork, separation from their parents, sharing, and building confidence and autonomy.

“What the hand does, the mind remembers.”- Maria Montessori.

The Beginnings program emphasizes hands-on learning experiences. This approach ensures that young children engage actively with their environment, fostering deeper understanding and retention of new concepts through six different curriculum areas: practical life, music, art, gross motor, fine motor, and language.

“Early childhood is a crucial time for learning and development,” said Ana Willis, School Counselor at Esprit International School. “Our Beginnings program is designed to provide a safe, loving, and enriching environment where young children can explore, discover, and grow. We are excited to extend our educational offerings to meet the needs of families with toddlers.”

Highlights of the Beginnings program include:

  • Individualized Attention: Low teacher-to-student ratios ensure personalized care and attention.
  • Safe and Stimulating Environment: Classrooms are equipped with age-appropriate furniture, learning materials, and safety measures.
  • Experienced Educators: Our teachers are Montessori certified and highly qualified in early childhood education.
  • Holistic Development: Focus on language, social skills, motor skills, and emotional well-being.

Enrollment for the Beginnings program is now open, and interested parents are encouraged to visit Esprit International School for a tour and to meet the dedicated educators who will be guiding their children. The program is set to start on August 19, 2024, and spaces are limited to ensure a high-quality, attentive educational experience.
