THE WOODLANDS, TX - The Woodlands Arts Council has announced that its 2023 / 2024 fiscal year has wrapped up.

"We have had a chance to reflect on our impact and growth and to gather our thoughts on how we can serve our arts community in 2024 / 2025. It feels like yesterday, but in August, we will begin a year of celebrating 20 years of Making Art Matter," said representatives in a statement.

Here are some highlights from 2023 / 2024:

The Council celebrated the 19th Annual Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival. Featured artist, Regina Lyubovnaya, inspired thousands to look closer and discover the beauty around us. What was found were phenomenal community of volunteers, passionate art lovers, and exceptional artistic talent.

Five new Art Bike Racks were installed along The Woodlands Waterway, in Waterway Square, Hughes Landing, and other prominent locations in The Woodlands. This fall, the Council will welcome five new art benches and a celebratory mural for The Woodlands' 50th Anniversary.

Microgrant funds made a record impact. A collaboration with The Pavilion Partners led to $84K for 24 grantees. The Dr. David Gottlieb Education Microgrant and Artist Microgrant seek to enable and support artistic projects in Montgomery County. Awarded projects included after-school dance programs, student art gallery displays, color printers, and more. The 2024 - 2025 Microgrant application opens on September 5.

The Council organized three exhibitions and launched its first Art Matters Series. Previously, The Woodlands Arts Council relied on donated spaces; now, staff are delighted that their new office has transformed into a permanent home, hosting regular exhibitions, workshops, and exciting future events.

"It is a thrilling time to be a part of our artistic community, and we hope you will join us as an Art Lover as we begin celebrating 20 years of making art matter," said representatives.
