THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Climate Champions Youth Art Contest has announced that Michelle Mower will be joining this year's panel of judges. Mower has a strong track record of creating impactful films that focus on female protagonists overcoming societal challenges, including the hit cable TV movie, “The Preacher’s Daughter” and its sequels, and “The Never List.” With her passion for empowering young voices through film and storytelling, Mower seeks to inspire student artists to address climate change through their artwork.

The Climate Champions Youth Art Contest encourages students in grades 1-12 to express their thoughts, feelings, and solutions about climate change through the power of art. The contest is free and prizes include $500 for first place in each grade category.

The deadline for submissions is November 30. After a successful pilot contest in Montgomery County, the contest is now expanding across the Lone Star State. Past judges include notable figures like the late Academy Award Winner Louis Gossett Jr. and Abigail Rockwell, granddaughter of Norman Rockwell. This year, the contest is partnering with prominent climate organizations such as the Citizens' Climate Lobby to further engage students.
