The Magnificent Six: Cooper students select their futures on Signing Day

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Nearly 100 students, faculty members, and family came to The John Cooper School this morning to show their support and appreciation for the latest six senior students to commit to their intended sports specialties in universities across the country.

In a grand ceremony, the students one by one and surrounded by their families inked their names to their commitment letters, then posed for photos with friends as they prepared to sally forth into the next phase of their careers and lives.

Maddie Burchfiel will be committing to play soccer at Johns Hopkins University. Maddie was accompanied by her parents Brian and Michelle and brother Evan.

Keller Cassidy will be committing to play soccer at Merrimack College. Keller was accompanied by his parents Bo and Melanie.

Connaghan Hou will be committing to play football at Johns Hopkins University. Connaghan was accompanied by his parents James and Katie.

Erika Olson will be committing to play tennis at Emory University. Erika was accompanied by her parents Ken and Miwa.

Jose Paez will be committing to play football at Rhodes College. Jose was accompanied by his parents Ricardo and Mercedes.

Milla Signorelli will be committing to vault on the track and field team at Yale University. Milla was accompanied by her parents Danny and Angie.

“I’m very excited for these students and their futures, and am proud at the caliber of universities that have accepted them,” said John Hoye, director of athletics at The John Cooper School.
