CONROE, TX -- At approximately 1:00 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 11900 block of Douget Road in Conroe.

Upon arrival, patrol deputies located a 14-year-old male victim lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately initiated life-saving measures; however, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded and began an investigation, along with Prosecutors and Investigators with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. Their efforts quickly led to the identification of a 15-year-old male suspect, from Conroe.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the juvenile suspect, along with a search warrant for his residence. With assistance from the MCSO SWAT Team and Patrol Division deputies, both warrants were served and the search of the residence resulted in the identification of two additional suspects: 19-year-old James Fuller and 19-year-old Mason Goodwin, both residents of Conroe. The juvenile suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center, where he was charged with murder. James and Mason were arrested without incident, transported to the Montgomery County Jail, and each booked on charges of murder. This investigation remains ongoing. Further details will be released as they become available.

Sheriff Doolittle-“This was a heartbreaking and senseless act of violence that took the life of a child far too soon. Thanks to the swift and hard work of our deputies, detectives, and partners at the District Attorney’s Office, we were able to quickly identify and apprehend those responsible. While the investigation indicates this stemmed from a personal dispute, no motive can justify such a loss. We hope this brings some measure of justice to the victim’s family, and we ask the community to continue lifting them up in prayer during this incredibly difficult time.”
