Lightning Strike Sparks Overnight House Fire – Quick Response Contained Blaze

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Just after midnight, as a thunderstorm moved through the area, The Woodlands Fire Department was dispatched to assist the Conroe Fire Department in response to a reported structure fire caused by a lightning strike in the 2000 block of Bennet Lane in the Stillwater subdivision.

Engine 106 from The Woodlands Fire Department was the first to arrive on scene and confirmed active fire in the attic of the residence. Crews initiated an aggressive interior attack, quickly bringing the blaze under control. Due to the rapid response, fire damage was limited to a small portion of the attic.

There were no injuries reported.
