Vehicle Fire Quickly Contained on I-45 by The Woodlands Fire Department

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Just before 9:00 AM this morning, The Woodlands Fire Department (TWFD) responded to a reported vehicle fire on the northbound main lanes of Interstate 45, just south of Highway 242.

Engine 101 was first to arrive on scene and discovered a small four-door sedan on the outside shoulder with active fire in the engine compartment. TWFD firefighters acted swiftly to contain and extinguish the blaze, successfully preventing the fire from spreading further.

After the fire was under control, crews worked efficiently to clear the roadway and restore normal traffic flow. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

TWFD was assisted on scene by Needham Fire & Rescue/Montgomery County ESD #4 and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
