Revving Up for a Cause: Victory for Veterans hosts ride this weekend to support those who served

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The road to mental health support starts here. Victory for Veterans is calling all motorcyclists, classic car enthusiasts, and community supporters to participate in its annual 149-mile fundraising ride and dice run. This event is meant to educate and fund critical mental health resources and suicide prevention initiatives for veterans and first responders. Proceeds will support the development and expansion of wellness centers nationwide, providing essential services to those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country and communities.
On Saturday, June 7, riders will come together for a day of camaraderie and purpose. Registration is from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., but you are encouraged to register online. Participants can enjoy a discounted breakfast followed by beer and snacks after the ride. Each rider will receive a dice sheet for a chance to win cash prizes for the highest, second-highest, and lowest rolls. A 50/50 raffle will give participants another opportunity to win cash and other prizes at the end of the ride.
“Our goal is to support those who have selflessly served and protected us,” says retired Colonel Mikel Burroughs, CEO of Victory for Veterans. “This ride is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a chance for the community to come together and show veterans and first responders that we stand with them. Every mile we ride and every dollar raised goes toward life-saving mental health programs for those who have sacrificed so much.”
Funds raised will directly support Victory for Veterans’ mission to combat the rising suicide rates among veterans and first responders, ensuring they have access to critical wellness centers and peer support services. Businesses and organizations looking to support this important cause can do so through event sponsorship. Details are available at https://www.victoryforveterans.org/plans-pricing.
The ride will end in Conroe about 3:30 p.m. and the prizes and announcements will end before 5:00 p.m. All motorcycle brands are welcome to attend; The Woodlands HOG Chapter will definitely be in attendance, and organizers expect around 100 motorcyclists.
The ride began eight years ago in Denver, Colorado, and, at its peak, organizers held rides in six locations across the country each year. While COVID scaled them back to three locations, they are focused on expanding again nationwide.
“We’re riding to save lives!" said COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs.
In 2023, $8,000 was raised; in 2024, $5,000 was raised; and they are projected to raise $6,000 to $9,000 this year.
