AUSTIN – The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) announced today the appointment of Stevee Franks as a Regional Section Chief for TDEM Region 4 (Southeast Texas). Franks has been appointed Section Chief of Recovery and Mitigation for the region.

TDEM’s Region 4 encompasses 13 counties in Southeast Texas, including Montgomery County. This region plays a critical role in the state’s economy and is well-known for its leadership in medicine, space exploration, and a vast petrochemical industry that has earned it the nickname “the energy capital of the world.”

“We’re proud to welcome Stevee Franks to the TDEM team,” said Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd. “She brings with her a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to public service. Her leadership and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our regional support capabilities across Southeast Texas.”

Before joining TDEM, Franks worked for the Collin County Behavioral Health Authority, University of Texas at Dallas, Office of Emergency Management for the City of McKinney, Hagerty Consulting, Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas at Sam Houston State University.

Franks holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice as well as a master’s degree in security studies, both from Sam Houston State University. Franks is excited to call Southeast Texas home where she looks forward to raising her family. In her spare time, you can find her reading, listening to music and True Crime podcasts, hiking, and counting the days to Halloween.
