MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- A 36-year-old Houston resident, Velasquez-Nikki Saadia Porter, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute nearly 200 grams of fentanyl. This successful prosecution highlights the critical role of interagency collaboration, with the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MOCONET) assisting in the investigation.

MOCONET worked in close partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to identify and disrupt Porter's fentanyl distribution operation. The investigation began in 2023, targeting fentanyl distribution and overdose incidents in the Houston area, where Porter operated a narcotics distribution point out of a local motel room.

This case was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which focuses on dismantling high-level drug trafficking organizations through a multi-agency, intelligence-driven approach.

Porter remains in custody and faces up to 40 years in prison and a maximum $5 million fine at his sentencing, scheduled for October 2. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office continues its commitment to working with federal partners to combat drug trafficking and safeguard the community.
