Montgomery County Man Arrested for Injury to a Child After Alleged Abuse of 13-Year-Old

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Constable Ryan Gable’s Safe Harbor detectives received a report from Child Protective Services concerning allegations of physical abuse involving a 13-year-old child.

The suspect was identified as 38-year-old Gamaliel Arzate. Montgomery County Pct. 3 Detectives initiated an investigation and discovered that on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the child had bruises on his legs, back, and arms, and reported being hit with a metal object attached to a belt. The child revealed that following the assault, Arzate threatened him and warned him not to discuss the incident.

Detectives gathered sufficient probable cause and evidence, including witness statements and physical evidence, to secure an arrest warrant for Arzate on charges of Injury to a Child, a third-degree felony. On Thursday, July 17, 2025, Arzate was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
