The Woodlands Fire Department Assists Spring Fire Department with House Fire Caused by Lightning Strike

SPRING, TX -- At approximately 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, The Woodlands Fire Department’s Truck 108 and Battalion 102 were dispatched to the 6800 block of Antique Cedar in the Augusta Pines community to assist the Spring Fire Department with a residential structure fire.

The incident was reportedly sparked by a lightning strike, which ignited the home’s attic. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire spreading rapidly throughout the attic space. Crews from both departments worked swiftly and effectively, bringing the blaze under control within 30 minutes.

There were no injuries reported. The collaboration between the agencies highlights the strong mutual aid partnerships in place to protect residents and property across Montgomery and Harris Counties.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
