Driver Critically Injured in Possible Street Racing Crash in The Woodlands
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At approximately 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, The Woodlands Fire Department, in coordination with the Montgomery County Hospital District and Montgomery County ESD No. 10/Magnolia Fire Department, responded to a collision with entrapment on Research Forest Road between Crownridge and Rockledge.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered that the vehicle had been torn in half due to the force of the collision, with one occupant trapped inside. Firefighters quickly deployed hydraulic rescue tools to safely extricate the driver and transfer him to Montgomery County Hospital District medics. The individual was subsequently transported to Hermann Memorial with life-threatening injuries.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety are actively investigating the incident, which is being treated as a possible street racing-related crash.
Authorities urge all drivers to exercise caution on area roadways and to avoid participating in illegal racing activities.
