HOUSTON, TX -- Lone Star College System appointed Carolyn Donovan as the first associate vice chancellor, Alumni Relations and Engagement. Donovan, who starts Oct. 20, will lead efforts to strengthen lifelong connections between the college system and more than 150,000 alumni.

“Lone Star College System alumni are among our greatest ambassadors,” said Kristy Vienne, Ed.D., LSCS vice chancellor, Finance and Administration/CFO. “Carolyn’s experience in building inclusive and mission-driven engagement programs will be instrumental as we establish a vibrant alumni association that keeps our graduates connected and engaged for life.”

In this role, Donovan will spearhead the development of the Lone Star College Alumni Association, an initiative designed to celebrate the achievements of LSCS graduates, foster professional and personal connections, and create opportunities for alumni to give back through mentorship, advocacy, and community engagement.

The new associate vice chancellor is a seasoned advancement and engagement professional who has more than two decades of experience in relationship building, communications, and strategic program design across higher education and the nonprofit sector. Most recently, Donovan served as director of development for Interfaith of The Woodlands and Interfaith Community Clinic, where she led community engagement initiatives that deepened partnerships and expanded the organization’s reach across South Montgomery County.

“I am honored to join Lone Star College System at such an exciting time,” said Donovan. “Building an alumni association offers an incredible opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our graduates, nurture meaningful connections, and strengthen their lifelong relationship with the college system.”

Previously, Donovan led a comprehensive alumni relations program at Salve Regina University, launching philanthropic programs and volunteer networks that continue to thrive today. Combined with a strong career history of working with health care, wellness, and human services organizations across the nonprofit sector, she is well-positioned to lead the development of the Lone Star College Alumni Association.

Donovan earned a Master of Business Administration in Management from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University, graduating cum laude. A graduate of Leadership Montgomery County, she has called Houston home for nearly 20 years and remains deeply committed to advancing education and community engagement.
