Houston Spine & Rehabilitation Centers is proud to partner with HerScan, a leading mobile breast ultrasound screening service, to host a special event in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These events are part of HSRC’s Integrative Wellness Program, which focuses on proactive, whole-body care for women and men. By partnering with HerScan, they’re taking a powerful step toward empowering women with access to painless, radiation-free breast ultrasound screenings, designed to help detect cancer early, especially in women with dense breast tissue.

In Precision Camera’s ‘Getting Started With Video’ course, you’ll dive into beginner concepts and techniques necessary for shooting video with a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. The Woodlands Arts Council (TWAC) is pleased to present ‘Where Distance Meets Connection,’ a three-day pop up exhibition featuring the semi-abstract paintings of local artist Annette Palmer. The exhibition will be on display October 28 - 30, at the TWAC Gallery, open Tuesday through Thursday, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artist and explore her collection, which bridges the landscapes of her native Scotland with those of her home in Texas.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum’sBoogie Bash today at 11:00 a.m. presents Halloween Hop. They’re celebrating Halloween with kid-friendly fingerplays, songs, and creative movement activities. Included in the price of admission, which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older.

Who ya gonna call? Sawyer Park Icehouse is hosting ‘Ghostbusters’ at Movie in the Park Night presented by The Yellow Rose Ghostbusters. This free event for all ages starts at 5:00 p.m. Proceeds go to Texas Children’s Hospital. Come see the Ecto-1, explore the Slime Lab, snag giveaways, and show off your best Ghostbusters costumes (highly encouraged)! Bring blankets and lawn chairs and make it a spooky-fun night under the stars. Family-friendly, costumes welcome, photo ops galore, and concessions available.

A family-friendly, free festival called “Deep in the Heartwood” will celebrate nature, community, health, Texas Arbor Day and the 20th anniversary of the local Heartwood Chapter of Texas Master Naturalist. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at W.G. Jones State Forest located at 1328 FM 1488 in Conroe. It will feature booths from natural resource professionals, community organizations and local health partners, plus food and music. It is open to the public and will feature local experts sharing knowledge on nature, conservation, and wellness; guided hikes through the forest trails; ambassador animals you can meet up close; a pollinator garden tour of the Heartwood Monarch Waystation to learn which native plants support local wildlife; native plant give-away; Walk with a Doctor for a healthy stroll and good conversation; fun yard games and Exhibitor Bingo; and dedication of a garden bench honoring the founding members of the Heartwood Chapter and the 20th anniversary.
