THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Now is a great time to start planning for a fun job next summer. Applications for The Woodlands Township’s 2026 summer season kick off today with Aquatics positions. More positions will open each month leading up to the Seasonal Job Fair on February 7, 2026. Gain valuable experience, build your resume and be part of a vibrant, community-focused team. Whether you’re looking to work outdoors or develop new skills while having fun, The Woodlands Township has the perfect summer role for teens and adults.
Working for The Woodlands Township isn’t just a seasonal job, it’s a chance to join a dynamic team, develop professional skills and serve your community. Available positions include lifeguards, swim instructors, swim coaches, recreation specialists, recreation aides, camp counselors, boat house aides, cart taggers and mosquito technicians. Many positions are open to applicants age 16 and older.
Train Early, Earn More
Lifeguard certification classes begin in December and swim instructor classes in January, making it easy to complete training during the holiday break or on the weekends. Training and uniforms are provided at no cost, and early applicants can choose which certification class, pool location and swim lessons best fit their schedule.
Lifeguards and swim instructors in The Woodlands gain hands-on experience in water safety, teamwork and emergency response—an ideal role for students and first-time job seekers. Average summer earnings are approximately $3,000, based on a part-time schedule of 20–30 hours per week for 10+ weeks, with opportunities to earn more.
Starting pay for lifeguards and camp counselors is $12.50 per hour, with varying rates for other positions listed on the Township’s job site. Apply online at thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/summer to get started.
