CONROE, TX -- Lone Star College–Montgomery (LSC-Montgomery) hosted its 2nd Annual Community Tree Lighting celebration on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The event was a resounding success, bringing together a large crowd and highlighting the importance of community partnership, service, and generosity.

The celebration welcomed over 500 participants, including students, employees, families, and community members from our partner ISDs, solidifying its place as one of the campus’s most cherished annual traditions, which embodies both the spirit of Christmas and the values of the college.

The evening was led by Trustee Rebecca Broussard (District 7, Assistant Secretary), who offered inspiring opening remarks. She was proudly joined by Trustees Dr. Jim Cain (District 9) and Iesheia Wilson (District 3, Secretary), underscoring the Board’s commitment to community outreach.

The event reinforced the college’s commitment to service, successfully supporting 12 families in need, one from each high school in the service-area ISDs, with vital holiday assistance and gifts through a partnership among staff, local chambers, and community members.

Attendees enjoyed a lively array of activities, including a successful Toys for Tots drive, a movie on the lawn, delicious food, live DJ entertainment, and dancing and singing performances. A special visit from Santa Claus brought excitement and joy to children and families.

LSC-Montgomery expanded its student support by raffling two $500 scholarships, awarded to two current students. The event also served to increase awareness of the resources available through the campus Care Center.

President Dr. Reid-Hart shared her enthusiasm, stating, “It was truly inspiring to see our community come together and celebrate the holiday season with such generosity and warmth. This event truly embodies the spirit of holiday giving and unity.”

LSC-Montgomery extends its sincere gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and generous sponsors who contributed to the event’s memorable success. With the community’s support, we look forward to significantly expanding the celebration in 2026. Interested parties wishing to become a vendor or sponsor next year are warmly invited to contact the college. We eagerly anticipate celebrating together again in 2026!
