CONROE, TX -- Lone Star College-Montgomery (LSC-Montgomery) successfully hosted its annual Holiday Benefit Concert on the evening of Thursday, December 4. The festive event, featuring exceptional performances by the college’s performing arts students, raised $2,470 for this year’s beneficiary, Guitars 4 Vets (G4V).

All proceeds from the sold-out concert were donated directly to G4V, a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic musical instruction to veterans across the nation. The event drew over 200 attendees.

The concert, held in the Mainstage Theatre, featured a diverse showcase of the college’s talented ensembles, including Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Creekside Civic Orchestra, and Dance. The program delighted attendees with a mix of holiday classics and modern interpretations, featuring a total of 105 performers on stage.

“Music has an amazing power to bring together people from all walks of life,” said Reese Burgan, Department Chair of Music and Dance and Director of Bands at LSC-Montgomery. “This annual event showcases our students’ exceptional musicianship and our college’s commitment to meaningful community engagement. The collaborative spirit on display tonight to celebrate the season while honoring and supporting our veterans through the power of music was truly inspiring.”

The Holiday Benefit Concert remains a cherished tradition at LSC-Montgomery, known for its consistent commitment to raising funds for local non-profit organizations for more than a decade.

The funds collected continue the concert’s legacy of strong community support. In a previous year, the event raised over $2,469.85 for a local partner, demonstrating the consistent generosity of attendees. The college also awarded five lucky audience members with LSC-Montgomery swag and season tickets for the music concert series.

The annual concert has evolved into a major showcase for the Music Department, following a tradition that has previously partnered with organizations like Sleep In Heavenly Peace to support their critical holiday programs.

This year’s proceeds will help G4V continue its mission to combat the effects of PTSD and other service-related injuries by connecting veterans with music and community mentorship. Representatives from the local Houston chapter of G4V were also on hand during the pre-show to speak with audience members about the organization.

LSC-Montgomery extends its deepest gratitude to every performer, staff member, donor, and attendee who made this year’s Holiday Benefit Concert a resounding success.
