THE WOODLANDS, TX -- This month’s student athlete profile is on Longmeadow High School senior standout soccer player, Cameron Greenman. We all know her talent on the pitch is exceptional. But, just how exceptional is she as a person?

Longmeadow sources knew Cameron was going to be a selfless person when they started to really notice how deeply she cares about how others feel on the soccer field and in every day life. She doesn’t just play with skill, she plays with heart. She’s always the first one to check on a teammate who falls, the one who notices when someone is discouraged, and the one who lifts them up with a kind word or a thoughtful gesture. Off the field, she’s exactly the same. She just has this natural way of showing up for people.. listening, caring, paying attention, even to the little things most people miss. You can see it in the thought she puts into gifts, too. She always finds something that shows she truly sees the person and knows what would make them smile. when someone is hurting, you can almost see her heart shift into gear… she responds with genuine empathy and compassion, not because it’s expected, but because that’s just who she is.

Let’s find out more about Cameron Greenman…

1) How long have you been playing soccer? How did you become interested in soccer? What other sports did you play growing up?

I’ve been playing soccer since I was four years old. My dad’s family has always been a huge soccer family, so the sport naturally became a big part of my life from a young age. I actually grew up playing a lot of different sports too. I was a competitive gymnast for about ten years, and I also did diving, lacrosse, and basketball for a few years. Playing multiple sports not only made me more well-rounded and competitive, but it also helped me develop a better sports IQ because I learned to read the game and adapt to different situations.

2) Describe the 2025 LHS soccer team and why you enjoy playing for the Lancers.

Playing soccer at LHS has been my favorite part of every school year. This season is definitely a memorable one. Our team made history by reaching the Elite 8 in states, and we are looking to make even more history as we head into the Final 4 and hopefully the finals. So far, we have a 16-2-3 record, which is the best we’ve had in the years I’ve been here. We also won Western Mass, which is extra special for me because I was able to end my high school career with two Western Mass titles, one with each of my sisters. I think what has allowed us to have such a strong season has been our chemistry. The eight seniors, including me, have been playing together since second grade, and I think our connection has been contagious for the underclassmen too.

3) Do you like attending LHS?

Yes, I love the competitive and supportive environment at LHS, both academically and athletically. I think it’s so motivating seeing classmates show up for each other for important games.

4) What colleges are you looking into attending? Do you know what your field of study will be?

I’m currently undecided on where I’ll go to college. Because of a recurring lower back injury, I had to pause the recruiting process, but I still plan on playing soccer in some way, whether that’s club or walking onto a team. I plan to major in nursing because I want to be able to make a difference in people’s lives.

5) What do you hope to be doing after you graduate from college?

After college, I hope to be a successful nurse and truly make a difference in people’s lives. I want to have a career that makes me happy and gives me a sense of purpose. I want to travel and eventually I’d love to have a family of my own.

6) What do you enjoy doing away from school and soccer?

Outside of school and soccer, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love doing art!

7) Who is your role model for soccer?

My role model in soccer is my older sister Jamie. I grew up on the sidelines watching her play and always wanted to be like her. Getting to play with and be on the same team as her my freshmen and sophomore year inspired me so much and are some of my favorite memories! And now seeing her compete at the collegiate level while balancing school is also inspiring and makes me want to play in college even more.

8) Describe how supportive your family is in everything you do in your life.

I truly don’t know where I would be without my family’s support. They’ve always been there for me through everything, whether it’s cheering me on at games or helping me push through challenges. I know they believe in me no matter what, and that means everything.

9) If you were given a million dollars and had to give it to one charity, which one would you choose and why?

I would give it to The Salvation Army because I’ve seen the impact firsthand through volunteering at a local women’s shelter. I want to help provide resources and support so more families can thrive and have opportunities for a better future.

10) Three things that people don’t know about you.

I love chocolate. I was born in Long Island. I love to design/create things.

11) What is your favorite song in your phone now? Do you have a favorite group?

I can’t pick just one favorite song! But my favorite pregame song throughout soccer season is In the Air Tonight By Phil Collins and my favorite band is Coldplay.

12) What are your thoughts on sports specialization at a young age?

I don’t like the idea of specializing in one sport at a young age. I was a gymnast for about ten years, played soccer my whole life, and also did diving, lacrosse, and basketball for a few years. Being able to participate in multiple sports and be part of different teams is so beneficial for so many reasons. It helps you learn different skills, meet new people, and experience a lot of growth. I would never take back any of those experiences because of the friends and memories I’ve made.

As you can see, the college that Cameron chooses to attend will be extremely fortunate.
