THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) football program has wrapped up one of the most remarkable seasons in its history, achieving milestones that have set a new standard for excellence. After an undefeated regular season, 3 players and 1 coach received recognition at the Houston Touchdown Club awards dinner on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

A Season of Firsts and Historic Achievements

The Warriors completed their regular season undefeated for only the third time in school history and the first time since joining Division II. This marks the first undefeated home schedule since 2019, a year when the team went 12-1 under then head coach Randy Hollas. This season, the Warriors finished 11-1, advancing to the second round of the playoffs and achieving several historic victories, including:

  • Defeating Fort Bend Christian for the first time since 2017.
  • Defeating Lutheran South in back-to-back years for the first time.
  • Defeating Episcopal High School, a program renowned for producing NFL and collegiate talent, in their first-ever matchup. Defeating Second Baptist for the first time in school history.
  • Continuing success over St. Pius, winning three out of the last four matchups.
  • Going undefeated against three public schools during the season.

“This was a really good season,” said Head Coach Kolby Hull. “The team’s hard work, resilience, and determination were evident every step of the way. These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication of our players, coaching staff, and the entire TWCA community.”

Individual Excellence Recognized

Several Warriors players received prestigious honors for their contributions to the team’s success:

  • Joshua Cox: Named Defensive Player of the Year by the Houston Touchdown Club, Cox led the team with 10 sacks, numerous tackles for loss, and quarterback hurries. His relentless pressure on opposing quarterbacks was a game-changer throughout the season.
  • Santi Fernandez Villarreal: Recognized as Offensive Player of the Year by the Houston Touchdown Club, Santi leaves TWCA as the second all-time leader in passing yards and touchdown passes. He is committed to The U.S. Military Academy at West Point and will participate in the Military Appreciation Bowl at The Star in Frisco, TX, playing alongside some of the nation’s top seniors.
  • Prince Holiday: A nominee for Lineman of the Year, Holiday played a pivotal role on what is could be considered the best defensive line in TWCA history. His efforts, alongside a talented group of teammates, anchored the team’s defensive success.
  • Head Coach Kolby Hull was named Coach of the Year by the Houston Touchdown Club, a recognition of the program’s outstanding season. Coach Hull credited the award to the collective efforts of the coaching staff and players.

“This award is not about me — it’s about our entire coaching staff and the incredible work they put in every day,” Hull said. “From Jamie Ware to David Moore and the rest of our staff, their dedication to our players and program is unmatched. This is truly a team award that reflects the heart of TWCA football.”

As the Warriors celebrate this historic season, the program remains focused on building upon its success. With a foundation of excellence and a commitment to growth, TWCA football is poised for continued achievements in the years to come.
