Ten Tips to Plan Your Perfect Weekend - Plus What's New in 2026 at The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival
The Woodlands, TX – The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival returns April 10 - 12, 2026. Recognized as one of the top ten art festivals in the country and voted the Best Event in The Woodlands 15 years in a row, this celebrated three-day event invites guests to experience a vibrant outdoor gallery along The Woodlands Waterway® and Town Green Park.
Here are ten tips to help you make the most out of your festival weekend, plus what’s new this year:
1. Skip The Lines – buy ahead of time. Purchase your ticket online for the best value, as prices increase at the gate. Plan ahead by reviewing Festival FAQs and parking options.
All ticket proceeds benefit The Woodlands Arts Council’s year-round programs, supporting students, educators, and arts organizations in Montgomery County. Thank you for helping us Make Art Matter!
2. Kick off the weekend at the Art Dash Party, featuring the new Silent Auction. Presented by The Woodlands Compounding Pharmacy, this highly anticipated evening brings together artists, collectors, sponsors, and community leaders at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel. Enjoy the excitement of the 60-Second Art Dash and this year’s featured live auction piece, along with the new Silent Auction showcasing works from past Best of Show artists. You can start bidding early online and do not need to be present to win. Tickets to the party are still available!
3. Find your way around the festival. Explore the distinct areas that shape the festival experience, including Town Green Park, Artopoly – in collaboration with The Woodlands Children’s Museum, Palette Cafe – presented by Garcia Real Estate Group, Watercolor Terrace – presented by Ovintiv, and East End – presented by Whitetail Ranch. Each space offers something unique, from hands-on activities and live performances to places to relax and recharge. Explore the digital guide, review the event map in advance, plan your route, and make the most of your time.
4. Upgrade your experience with the VIP Hospitality Lounge. Presented by Visit The Woodlands, the VIP Hospitality Lounge offers a premium festival experience along the banks of The Woodlands Waterway®. Enjoy complimentary food and beverages, front-row views of the main stage, VIP parking, and a comfortable space to unwind throughout the day. Get your VIP Experience tickets here.
5. Connect with the featured artist, Taman VanScoy. A California native, Taman VanScoy has captivated festival attendees for several years. His dreamlike artwork will be on display at Watercolor Terrace, presented by Ovintiv, where you can pause, refresh at the Craft Beer booth presented by Republic Grand Ranch, and relax while enjoying a bite before continuing your day. Browse the artist directory online and start selecting your favorite artist to visit.
6. Plan your schedule around live music, now with four stages. Pick your favorite rhythm at the Palette Cafe Main Stage, presented by Stella Artois and supported by The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, the two acoustic stages: Hometown Stage, powered by Energy, and the newest Eastside Stage, or enjoy a variety of performances from local groups on the Art & Culture Stage. See the full lineup here.
7. Enjoy family time at ARTopoly and join the Community Project. In partnership with The Woodlands Children’s Museum, ARTopoly offers interactive art experiences for all ages. This year’s highlight is the Community Project, where guests can paint a wooden tile that will become part of a collaborative mural displayed at the Canopy Survivorship Center. This area is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Explore everything happening at ARTopoly here!
8. Immerse yourself in the literary hub at Books On The Green. In partnership with Village Books, relax while listening to award-winning authors or participating in literary games and activities, including this year’s highlight, Angela Dominguez, author of the Gabby Torres series, whose appearance is supported by a Dr. David Gottlieb Education Microgrant from The Woodlands Arts Council. Check the weekend schedule here.
9. Enjoy Local Eats & Drinks in every area of the festival. Recharge with local foods, ice cream, and beverages throughout the festival, with a wide variety of options available across the grounds, from sweet treats like popsicles, donuts, and coffee to regional cuisines including Greek, Mexican, Italian, Korean, and American, and enjoy a glass of wine, your favorite beer, or another refreshing beverage as you continue your day. Explore all food options here.
10. Take a break to reflect on your favorite art. While strolling the festival, take time to slow down and enjoy the art, notice what draws you in, and don’t hesitate to connect with the artists by asking about their techniques, inspiration, and process, then choose the one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to you and bring personality to your home, office, or life.
