Proactive Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest for Illegal Firearms Possession and Possession of Controlled Substance in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On April 11, 2026, at approximately 10:45 pm, Patrol deputies initiated a proactive traffic stop near the 4800 block of Woodlands Parkway. During the traffic stop deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 20-year-old Lane Williams, was in possession of four firearms, one being a short-barreled rifle having no serial number, and a variety of drugs. Following the discovery of the illegal items, Williams was taken into custody where he was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he was charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felony Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to removing illegal firearms and dangerous drugs from the community to ensure the safety of all residents.
