Lake Conroe Fourth of July Weekend: Precinct 1 Marine Division Reports 14 Incidents, 226 Boater Safety Checks, and 2 BWI Arrests
CONROE, TX -- The Precinct 1 Constable’s Office presents Marine Division statistics for the 2026 Fourth of July weekend on Lake Conroe. Deputies responded to 14 incidents, including a major boat crash with injuries, in which they assisted Texas Parks and Wildlife. Precinct 1 Deputies and Texas Game Wardens each arrested one individual for Boating While Intoxicated; Game Wardens also made two drug-related arrests.
Deputies conducted 226 voluntary Boater Safety Checks at local marinas before vessel launch and 102 additional checks on the water. They made 67 enforcement contacts, resulting in 26 citations. Of the 226 voluntary safety checks conducted before the vessel launched, 81 boats lacked one or more required safety items, such as PFDs/lifejackets, Class 4 throwables, sound-producing devices, charged fire extinguishers, kill switch lanyards, or registration cards.
The safety checks conducted prior to launch were to educate boaters and ensure they had all necessary safety equipment before launching their vessel. Participants are never cited during voluntary inspections, and many boaters appreciate the opportunity to address missing items in advance, helping them avoid citations on the water.
Constable Cash extends his gratitude to our law enforcement partners: the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Montgomery County Hospital District, Conroe Fire Department, ESD1, and ESD2 for their ongoing support. Constable Cash reminds all Lake Conroe visitors: “Be sensible, be safe, and always wear a life jacket when you are in or around the water.”
