Woodlands Online cares about our community and every year we like to give back to the community by helping raise funds for local non-profits.
We are highlighting several local non-profits to bring attention to their community service as well as to spotlight their respective organizational needs during this Christmas season. We will include a list of items that you can purchase and drop off at their location. There will also be a link to their donation page. With such a diverse group of non-profits, you are sure to find an item that fits your cause.
We are a group of dedicated Texans who have formed a Texas based tax-exempt/non-profit 501(c)(3) military support organization, Operation Military Embrace, Inc., (OME) to assist America’s seriously injured and ill Warriors and their families in their time of need.
Items Needed:
Coffee (one pound or 10 - 12 oz. bags.)
Meat Pouches (tuna, salmon, chicken, turkey, etc.) or in cans
Beef Jerky / Slim Jims
Granola Bars / Clif Bars / Power Bars
Pocket Size Snacks (nuts, fruit gummies, trail mix, etc.)
Hot Chocolate (individual packets)
Gum
Batteries (especially AA & AAA)
Personal Care (toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner)
Operation Pets Alive! is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raises community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive. Operation Pets Alive! believes that many in our community share our values with regard to homeless dogs and cats. Therefore, we see a need to increase community awareness and community involvement regarding the No-Kill movement and the plight of homeless dogs and cats in our community. We want to help people “do the right thing” for animals.

Boarding for one pet for one day ($10)
Monthly flea treatment for one cat ($15)
Monthly heartworm & flea preventative for one dog ($20)
Vaccinates a cat from life-threatening diseases ($25)
Vaccinates a dog from life-threatening diseases ($30)
Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit facility whose mission is to enhance and transform the lives of children, individuals and families struggling with mental and physical challenges. The Ranch offers exceptional equine programs in a loving Christian environment.
Foster Kids - Love Fosters Hope is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with many facets, but one purpose: to impact the lives of children and teens in foster care who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. There is no donation too large or too small, because what truly matters is the heart of the giver. There are several convenient ways to make a tax-deductible contribution to Love Fosters Hope. We're grateful for every financial gift made to Love Fosters Hope. Each dollar received is used to fund our operations and impact the lives of foster kids who desperately need our help.

What began as a dream of Mr. George P. Mitchell, founder and original developer of The Woodlands, flourished into a reality and is helping thousands of individuals and families each year.
