Job Description

The Assistant II of Facilities at WoodsEdge plays a key role in overseeing the maintenance, operations, and safety of the church facilities. This position involves working closely with the Director of Facilities, Assistant Facilities Director and other church leaders to ensure a safe, welcoming, and functional environment for worship, events, and community activities. Collaborating closely with the Assistant Facilities Director, Leadership Staff, outside contractors, this role supports various work-related changes, improvements, constructions, remodels, and troubleshooting efforts.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Facilities:
o Involved in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the church facilities, including buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, landscaping, safety and security, etc.).
o Coordinate with team to schedule facility usage for various church events and activities.
o Ensure a clean and well-maintained environment that aligns with the church's standards.
• Team Leadership:
o Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
o Attend weekly meetings and 1:1’s with the Assistant Facilities Director.
• Project Management:
o Occasionally, manage, communicate, and coordinate with contractors and vendors.
o Maintain files and inventory records of supplies, setting priorities, and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
o Manage projects to be completed on time and within budget.
• Communication:
o Maintain open and effective communication with church leaders, staff, and congregation regarding facility-related matters.
o Work with the facilities department and other church ministries with the same level of professionalism.
• Event Support:
o Collaborate with event planners and ministry leaders to support the logistics of church events.
o Partner with events team to support calendaring efforts.
o Ensure that facilities are prepared and set up appropriately for events (e.g., Weekly events, weddings, conferences, etc.).
• Safety and Security:
o Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure the well-being of staff, congregation, and visitors.
o Maintaining daily awareness of property and personal safety, implementing safety and emergency procedures, and ensuring campus readiness.
• General Maintenance and Repair:
o Ability to conduct minor repairs to mechanical and electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, water, sewer, irrigation).
o Conducting routine weekly maintenance, including ground maintenance activities, and ensuring property cleanliness.

Skills Required

• High school graduate or equivalent work experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience with facilities, work or equivalent.
• Strong team management skills.
• General carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical knowledge, troubleshooting and repair abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use (and instruct in the use of) a variety of hand tools and equipment, measure distance, calculate quantities and research products and safety of use.
• Computer skills include operating knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, event programming, task monitoring software, and being capable of learning energy monitoring systems.
• Ability to trouble shoot, identify problems, and provide solutions.
