Mall to Host Teen Vote Event

Teen election event to be held September 6 and 7

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Teens want to voice their opinions in this year’s presidential election. And so, this summer, General Growth Properties’ (NYSE: GGP) malls across the country, including The Woodlands Mall, are giving teens the chance to voice their opinions on important nationwide issues – as well as their choice for president of the United States.

Did you know over the past decade, debt levels for graduating seniors with student loans more than doubled from $9,250 to $19,200 – a 108 percent increase (58 percent after accounting for inflation*)? With these issues and many more affecting today’s teens, it’s important they educate themselves with the election process so in 2012 they are ready to vote. Until then…teens can make their voices heard through the UR Votes Count program.

The Woodlands Mall will host UR Votes Count, an exciting nationwide teen election that allows teen shoppers to get informed, get involved and get heard by voting on important nationwide issues and their choice for the president of the United States. Teens who participate in the UR Votes Count event also will receive great retailer offers and instant giveaways and be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win cool prizes. In addition, participants 18 years and older can register to vote through UR Votes Count program partner, Declare Yourself, found on the “partner” tab at the link below.

The event will be held on Saturday, September 6, and Sunday, September 7, from noon to 6 p.m. at The Woodlands Mall, located at I-45 north at Lake Woodlands Drive.

Because UR Votes Count! This is every teen’s chance to voice their opinions in the 2008 election. Teens will have the chance to vote on issues, such as the environment, national security and the economy, as well as their choice for president of the United States. Their participation also gives them entry in a national sweepstakes and a chance to receive instant giveaways and prizes.
