Vatican Launches New Pope Portal

In an effort to reach young people around the world, the Vatican recently announced the launch of Pope2You.net, a web portal that allows uses social networking and smartphone applications to connect users worldwide with Pope Benedict XIV.

The site allows Facebook users to send virtual postcards with photos of Benedict and excerpts from his messages. There is also an iPhone and iPod Touch application that offers video and audio news on the pope’s travels and speeches.

The Pope2You portal, operated by the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Social Communications, is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
