Garage Fire in Harpers Landing Quickly Contained by Firefighters

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At approximately 9:30 p.m. this evening, The Woodlands Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Wimberly Way in the Harpers Landing neighborhood. Engine 106 was the first unit to arrive on scene and observed active fire in an attached garage.

Firefighters from The Woodlands Fire Department's Engine 106, along with personnel from Needham Fire & Rescue/Montgomery County ESD #4 Engine 61, initiated an aggressive offensive attack. Their swift response resulted in a rapid knockdown of the fire, successfully containing all fire damage to the garage and preventing further spread to the residence.

The cause of the fire was determined to be improperly discarded fireworks. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.

Additional support was provided on scene by the Montgomery County Hospital District and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
