CROP Walk set for April 11

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- As part of a nationwide endeavor to raise money to alleviate hunger in this country and around the world, The Woodlands Christian Church will host the inaugural CROP Walk on Sunday, April 11, 2010 to benefit Interfaith of The Woodlands and the Church World Service.

According to Laura Callison, organizer of the event, “Neighbors from different faiths, cultures, and ages, will walk together to take a stand against hunger raising awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as local hunger-fighting agencies. CROP is an abbreviation for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty.”

The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. at The Woodlands Christian Church, 1202 North Millbend Drive, in The Woodlands.

The public as well as pets are encouraged to participate.

CROP Walk packets will be available on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at The Woodlands Christian Church from 9 a.m. to noon.
