Girl Scout Donates 220 Boxes of Cookies for Troops

Area girl gives back to those who serve our country!

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Tillman Troops would like to acknowledge Girl Scout Michaela A. Branch with Troop #27081 from Pearland, TX on her annual cookie sale.

Michaela A. Branch wanted to give back to those who serve our country. She began by researching local charities that support the troops and heard that The Galleria Racquet Club had just completed a campaign with TillmanTroops.org which received glowing reviews. Branch went to work by asking a board member at Equus Total Return, Inc. to purchase 20 boxes for the troops then, challenged others to do the same. She personally sold over 220 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to friends, family and her parent’s co-workers.

After several weeks of selling cookies she called Tillman Troops for a donation pick up where Michaela A. Branch was presented with a certificate by the founder of Tillman Troops and 2010 Navy Military Spouse of the Year, Loree Tillman for all her hard work and success.

Michaela A. Branch was quick to realize that people are willing to support the troops in the most ingenious ways, especially when you make it easy for them and encourages others to think 'outside the box' or inside if it's a box of Girl Scout cookies.

TillmanTroops.org would also like to send a sincere thank you to the directors and officers of Equus Total Return, Inc. (NYSE: EQS), a Houston-based private equity fund, for supporting Michaela.

Over the past 3 years, TillmanTroops.org has provided support and assistance to thousands of service members overseas. They rely heavily on local companies and individuals like Michaela A Branch to sponsor a donation drive of goods and monetary donations that are put to work inspire morale, provide comfort and remind our troops that the American people care and value what they do in service of their country.

TillmanTroops.org, is a local tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in the Houston area. TillmanTroops.org is comprised of individuals and organizations volunteering and donating goods and services for charitable purposes to provide support, aid, comfort and assistance to members of our armed forces, operational employees and agents of other U.S. government departments and their families.

TillmanTroops.org support has included: phone cards for veterans stationed overseas; gift certificates for local military families; books for Texas area military hospital libraries and forward operating bases in Afghanistan; swimming pool equipment and supplies, barber shop equipment and supplies, woodworking tools and equipment, and DVD’s/CD’s for camps located in remote areas of Afghanistan; humanitarian aid, clothing, food and comfort items for distribution to Afghan villagers; organized a Toby Keith Night where injured soldiers were able to meet Toby Keith and attend his concert; and organized a '2008 Big Texas Welcome Home' for military veterans (and families) who recently served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
