YMCA to offer home school PE classes in the Fall

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The South Montgomery County YMCA will be once again be offering “The Way," a Home School PE Class for the Fall semester. “The Way” is a quality physical education program for home schooled youth, ages 3 - 16.

The class will meet once a week on Tuesday afternoon, 1 - 2:30 p.m. at the Shadowbend YMCA location in The Woodlands. The Fall session is now thru November 13. Students will rotate through a variety of age appropriate sports and training disciplines with focus on fundamental skills and team building. The program curriculum may include aerobics, tumbling, climbing wall, sports, aquatics, strength and conditioning and Presidential fitness testing and training.

In addition to the PE class, the YMCA also offers Eco Quest, an Outdoor Environmental Education class for Home School students, grades K-8th grade. Eco Quest is offered at the Creekside Y Outdoor Adventure Center. Class meets on Monday, 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. The fall session begins the week of Sept. 10th and continues thru Nov. 19th. A new Home School Gymnastics class has been added to the school in 2012. For students ages 5 - 10, the class is offered Tuesday and Thursday, 2:45 - 3:30 p.m. The new sessions begins the week of Sept. 10th.
