THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands United Methodist Church will have a Sign the Slab event for the its Harvest worship venue on Sunday, June 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Attendees will have an opportunity to write a personal inscription of prayer or praise onto the foundation of the Harvest's new stage, and enjoy music and refreshments.

The construction of a dedicated worship space for the Harvest contemporary service will create a warm, intimate atmosphere for that service and church events, and will allow for an additional traditional service on Sunday mornings in the church's Main Sanctuary.

"I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to see the new Harvest worship space being built, and what the future holds for the Harvest community," says Rev. Mark Sorensen, associate pastor at The Woodlands UMC. "I truly believe that this new worship space is the fruit of a praying community and church leadership that is not afraid to dream big to make a greater impact for Jesus Christ."

Construction of the new Harvest worship venue is the second stage of the three-part Imagine campaign. The first stage, a 45,000 square foot Family Life Center, was completed in April. The final stage will be the expansion of the church's Loft worship space, which is also currently under construction.

The new Harvest worship venue is expected to be completed in October.
