ORIGINAL STORY:

TOMBALL, Texas -- More than five dozen collies, approximately 65, were seized from a Tomball home located in the 14200 block of Alice Road in Tomball, after a judge granted a federal court order on Friday, August 29.

The house belongs to eye doctor, Elaine Kmiec, who claims to be a breeder, but the conditions the dogs were living in were deplorable, as many were covered in feces and urine with matted coats...definite signs of neglect. Some of the dogs required medical attention.

The seizure is expected to take volunteers from Houston Collie Rescue, inc., the rest of Friday, through the night, and into Saturday morning.

According to Texas dog lawyer, Zandra Anderson, the woman surrendered 50 dogs in 2007.
