Township holds Board meeting, elects officers for 2015

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held a regular Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, at 6 p.m. The entire meeting can be watched on video at The Woodlands Township website. The following actions were taken.


Approved the forms of the Oaths of Office, Official Bonds and Statements of Elected/Appointed Officers for the newly elected Directors of The Woodlands Township;

Administrated the Oath of Office to newly elected Directors of The Woodlands Township, those being Gordy Bunch, Mike Bass, Jeff Long and Ed Robb;

Elected Officers for the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Township to be as follows: Chairman Bruce Tough, Vice Chairman Ed Robb, Secretary Mike Bass and Treasurer Gordy Bunch.

Appointed newly elected Directors to The Woodlands Township Economic Development Zone Board of Directors;

On the consent agenda, the Board:


Received Law Enforcement Administrative Reports for November 2014;

Received Community Services Administrative Report for November 2014;

Received Administrative Reports for The Woodlands Fire Department for November 2014;

Received Administrative Reports for Transportation for November 2014;

Accepted the conveyance of Village of Sterling Ridge Section 91 ROSR A, B, & C;

On the regular agenda, the Board:


Received presentation relating to the Kroger Fuel Center;

Received an update on The Woodlands Township Transit Plan and South Montgomery County Mobility Study;

Received the October Financial Report;

Received a presentation on all-weather turf and awarded bids for Phase II of the Gosling Sportsfields Complex Development;

Accepted a briefing on the process for Board and committee appointments at the December Board meeting;

Discussed potential changes to the Board Policy on Meeting Time and Format, and adopted the 2015 Board meeting schedule, which will change the Thursday board meetings to an 8 a.m. start time in 2015;

Deferred decision on the renewal of the Service Agreement with The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau;


Approved selection of professional design services for The Woodlands Transportation Center/Parking Structure;

Approved a resolution in support of Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack's appointment of Township Director Gordy Bunch to serve on the Montgomery County Bonding Committee;

The Board then recessed to Executive Session and no further action was taken.
