THE WOODLANDS, Texas – A new pathway is planned to begin construction in September 2015, adjacent to the new Kuykendahl connector between Crownridge Drive and Alden Bridge Drive.

At its August 26 board meeting, The Woodlands Township received and approved a reimbursement and cost-sharing agreement with The Woodlands Development Company for the construction of the pathway. Construction is anticipated to begin within 30 days and is expected to take 45 to 60 days to complete.

Residents of Alden Bridge previously contacted the Township about the potential to add the pathway to improve access to the shopping center and two schools in the area (Mitchell and Bush).

Since the pathway was not in the original Comprehensive Community Services Agreement, the 2,800 linear feet of pathway will be funded jointly by the Township and The Woodlands Land Development Company. The Township Board approved $122,800 for its 50 percent share, to be budgeted and paid as a reimbursement in the 2016 budget. The Woodlands Land Development Company will execute construction of the project.
