THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Children’s Museum is the place to be on Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play – an annual event designed to encourage children and parents to turn off the television and go play.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26. The day of play is included in the price of admission, which is $5 for ages 2 and up.

“Nickelodeon started the Worldwide Day of Play by going completely dark for three hours, taking down all of its programming and shutting down its websites,” Angela Colton, the museum’s executive director, explained. “The message is simple and so compatible with our mission – get up, go out and play!”

She added that the Worldwide Day of Play has resulted in children pursuing more active and healthy lifestyles.

“As a partner with Let's Move, the White House initiative addressing childhood obesity, Worldwide Day of Play is something that the museum wanted to support,” Colton said. “We want families to join us and just play together.”

Located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, in The Woodlands, 77381, The Woodlands Children’s Museum has a full calendar of exciting activities, recommended for ages 7 years and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. To learn more, visit woodlandschildrensmuseum.org or call 281-465-0955.
