Wine, Weapons, and Giving Back: A Benefit for Lone Survivor Foundation

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — As part of our ongoing support of veterans and those who are currently serving in the armed forces, TeamSinisi Real Estate Group was proud to host our first annual fundraising event benefiting Lone Survivor Foundation. On May 12 we partnered with Saddle River Range and Qorkz Wine Company to host “Hidden Corners of Wine Country, Wine Tasting Event. Guest had the opportunity to meet wine makers, taste amazing wine and enjoy activities at Saddle River Range. It was a fun evening of wine and weapons while supporting our service men and women.

The event began with an opportunity to participate in range activities, including time on the shooting range and the archery range. Thom Boch, owner of Saddle River Range graciously hosted us donating proceeds from range time participation to Lone Survivor. Thom spent 25 years in the Secret Service before retiring from the service and opening Saddle River Range. His passion for supporting our men and women in service is evident in his support of our event.

After shooting practice, guest enjoyed tastings of wines generally not available in local retail stores. Qorkz.com is an “on-line” market place for handcrafted, limited production wines offered by independent wine makers in California. We were very excited when Jill Hoffman of Qorkz Wine Company and Garry Brooks of Brooks Note Winery, offered to donate wine and their time for the event.

The evening ended with a successful silent auction, opportunity to purchase wine and raffle. All proceeds were donated directly to Lone Survivor Foundation. Lone Survivor Foundation’s mission is to restore, empower, and renew hope for our wounded service members and their families through health, wellness, and therapeutic support.

“It has been our goal to host at least one fundraiser each year to support our men and women in uniform” said Vinny Sinisi, founder and owner of TeamSinisi Real Estate Group. “When Qorkz Wine Company and Saddle River Range volunteered to partner with us we knew the time was now”. Vinny went on to say that our plan is to make next year’s event even bigger and more successful. “We have been so blessed with success in this community, we have made it our mission to give back”.
