The Woodlands Children’s Museum to hold Super Hero Day

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Children's Museum is hosting a celebration for protectors of justice.

Super Hero Day, slated for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, is guaranteed to capture the imaginations of children who want to try on a cape and emulate a favorite crusader.

Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite character – and parents may bring their phones and cameras for a special photo opportunity at the museum.

The event will be sponsored by Texas Children's Urgent Care, super heroes for children’s health and wellness.

Angela Colton, executive director of the museum, explained that dressing up is an ideal way to promote imaginative play, which is essential to a child’s development.

“Children thrive when their imaginations are allowed to soar,” Colton said. “We’re joining forces with Texas Children’s Urgent Care to make this fun fantasy day a reality.”

Colton added that when children are performing imaginary feats of heroism, they begin to understand and adopt qualities that can build a noble character later in life.

“Children can actually learn the importance of being kind-hearted, caring and putting others first by pretending to be super heroes,” she said.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum is open seven days a week during the summer. Daily admission of $6 per person 1 year and older. The museum is recommended for ages 7 and under.
