THE WOODLANDS, Texas— College Park High School football will host the Klein Oak Panthers Friday night Oct. 26 at 7 PM. Both teams, currently sitting at third and fourth place respectively in District 15-6A, will look to cement a spot in the playoffs with a win this week.

Coming off a bye week, College Park has posted their most wins in a season since 2013. In the Cavaliers dramatic 23-21 win over rival Oak Ridge two week prior, special teams were the deciding factor. Running back QuaJon Charles returned a kickoff 93-yards for a touchdown, and kicker Andrew Lutz hit the walk-off game-winning field goal through the uprights.

Cavalier Senior Quarterback Jake Hunnicutt has accounted for 1000+ yards and 12 touchdowns this season. While junior running back QuaJon Charles has also put up impressive numbers, averaging over 100 total purpose yards and two scores per game.

Standing in the way of playoffs for the Cavs are the Klein Oak Panthers. With a similar record, a win for either team could almost guarantee a playoff spot. The Panthers handled Oak Ridge last Saturday at home with a 35-20 win, with two scores from highly touted wide receiver Tyler Hudson. Hudson, a 3-star recruit with 10 total touchdowns this year, holds offers from schools such as Rice and Harvard.
