College Park Heads To Play Cleveland After a Thrilling Win Last Week

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Last week’s game for College Park was action-packed as they triumphed over their rival, The Woodlands. This win kept them undefeated for the season, and that game was the biggest hurdle to maintaining their winning streak. This week, they travel to play a Cleveland team that has yet to win a game this season. This shouldn’t be much of a contest and will serve as a nice break compared to the last three weeks of tough opponents. Of course, we won’t know if College Park can stay undefeated until the fourth quarter ends, but this likely won’t be much of a challenge for the juggernaut Cavaliers.
College Park Cavaliers: Unbeaten and Focused
Hitting the road can be a challenge for some teams, but College Park has proved they can win both on the road and at home this season. They head into this game still hot after last week’s win and are hungry for more. Unfortunately for them, they won’t find much of a challenge in Cleveland, which has the inverse record with 0 wins. QB Camden Hughes has been outstanding this year, reaching the 2000-yard mark through the air in the last game and pushing his total to 33 touchdowns (both passing and rushing combined). He will look to his reliable WR core again in this game, and they should perform well. Julian Cromartie had an incredible game last week, scoring 3 TDs, bringing his total to 706 receiving yards and 10 TDs on the season. Other WRs Brian Snodgrass and Jordan Styles will also look to make an impact through the air this week. RBs Antonio Booker and Duke Stephens have also been impressive recently, with Booker ending last week’s game on a walk-off 20-yard TD run in double overtime. Stephens and Booker each have around 400 rushing yards and aim to continue their ground dominance. The defense is sometimes even better than the offense, as they keep College Park in games and force crucial turnovers to set up the offense. They have 22 sacks, 8 recovered fumbles, and 5 interceptions this season, making them one of the best at causing chaos. Overall, this team is elite and shouldn’t have too tough a time against Cleveland.
Cleveland Indians: What Do You Even Do?
Often in football, there's always a chance for an underdog to get a shot against a big team. This is one of those times where Cleveland just can't win this match, unless College Park doesn't even show up physically. This will be another rough game for Cleveland, and it probably won’t be close. Cleveland could play College Park 1,000 times and likely not win once, let alone score more than 14 points. Cleveland hasn’t scored more than 8 points in any game all season, and yes, you read that correctly. When they do manage a rare score, they can’t even kick an extra point, so touchdowns mostly just count as 6. Teams have scored 349 points against them in 7 games, and the defense is nearly nonexistent. The highlight of this game will definitely be the band, which has a unique marching style rarely seen at the high school level. It will be more interesting to see if Cleveland can even score a single touchdown rather than if they can win. You have to feel bad for this team, and here’s hoping they come back stronger next year — anything is an improvement over this year.
Final Thoughts:
There’s no sugar-coating this one; it’s going to be a beatdown and nothing more. If Cleveland manages to score, it will probably be against the 2nd or 3rd stringers. College Park should come away with another win to stay undefeated before heading into the bye week. To listen to the CPSN broadcast on Woodlands Online, check it out here.
