THE WOODLANDS, Texas— The Oak Ridge War Eagles will host the Klein Cain Hurricanes at Woodforest Bank Stadium Saturday, Oct. 27 at 6 PM. The War Eagles, with a 2-5 overall record and 1-4 in District, will look for a win to spark a late season run.

The War Eagles, coming off a 35-20 defeat to Klein Oak, will look for their first home win of the season. Senior quarterbacks Blaine Romero and Logan Letney both found the end zone in last week’s loss, bringing their season totals to three each. Oak Ridge Head Coach Dereck Rush’s offense bases themselves around spreading the ball around, getting the ball into the hands of their playmakers, and the War Eagles have many of them. The War Eagles have had three different players score more than three touchdowns this season, with three more scoring at least two touchdowns.

While the offense is capable of putting up points, the defense for the War Eagles may be their strong suit. Only allowing 30+ points three times this season to The Woodlands, Klein Collins, and Klein Oak. Arguably the three most potent offense in the district. Senior linebacker Jordy McGowen still leads the way for the War Eagles with over 40 tackles on the year, while Philip Ossai, Darius Richmond, and Jordan McDavis have tallied two sacks each.

Also coming into this week with a 2-5 record, Klein Cain has experienced some ups and downs in their first full varsity football season. Quarterback Luke Pardee leads the way with 10 passing touchdowns and two scores on the ground, but has thrown nine interceptions in seven games. With a team filled with underclassman, the Hurricanes will have a nice core of guys for the future. But for 2018, an 0-2 record on the road bodes well for the War Eagles.
