The Woodlands Township Board holds meeting

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held its regular meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard in The Woodlands, Texas.

The Board of Directors took the following actions before conducting business on Consent and Regular agenda items:


Approved the forms of the Oaths of Office, Official Bonds and Statements of Elected/Appointed Officers for the newly elected Directors of The Woodlands Township.

Elected Board Officers for The Woodlands Township: Chairman – Gordy Bunch; Vice Chairman – John McMullan; Secretary – Dr. Ann Snyder; Treasurer – John Anthony Brown.

The Board of Directors accepted reports from Village Association representatives from the villages of Alden Bridge and Cochran’s Crossing.

The Board of Directors took the following actions on the Consent Agenda:


Awarded a bid for concrete services.

Awarded a bid for Fleet Maintenance Services.

Approved an Interlocal Agreement between Montgomery County, Texas and The Woodlands Township Relating to Installation of Cameras.

Approved terminating a Tax Abatement Agreement by Mutual Consent between The Woodlands Township and Chicago Bridge and Iron.

Approved Facilities Easements for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company at W. Branch Crossing and N. Dulce Hollow Circle, Sterling Ridge.

Approved an amended award of bid for swimming pool chemicals.

The Board of Directors then moved on to take the following actions on the Regular Agenda:


Deferred approval of meeting minutes.

Deferred action on the request by Flair Builders, LLC for annexation of a 50.5518 acre tract located North of Indian Hill Road.

Received and accepted the financial report.

Appointed Gordy Bunch, John Anthony Brown, Brian Boniface and Bruce Rieser to the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Township Economic Development Zone to coincide with their terms on the Township Board.

Received and accepted a briefing on the process for Board and Committee appointments at the December 5, 2018 Board meeting.

Interviewed candidates for the Design Standards Committee and received a briefing on the process for appointments to the committee.

Approved Phases Three and Four of the Communication Towers Project.

The Board honored The Woodlands Christian Academy Boys’ and Girls’ Cross-Country Teams for each winning a State Championship and proclaimed Wednesday, November 28, 2018 as The Woodlands Christian Academy Cross Country State Champions Day in The Woodlands, Texas.
