THE WOODLANDS, TX -- My name is Neel, I am 14 years old and would need your help for feeding kids this summer . According to U.S Census one in five kids go hungry in Texas. I heard on the radio about kids going hungry during summer break from school. It is shocking to hear that we live in modern times where food is easily available and still there kids going hungry due to difficult circumstances. This summer I decided to do something, rather than playing video games so I became a volunteer at the Montgomery Food Bank.

I enjoy volunteering at the food bank, than playing video games. It makes me very happy when I am at the food bank , get to meet people who are very passionate , caring for this great cause. Being a volunteer has taught me some valuable lessons of caring, compassionate and most important understanding other peoples struggles .

Thought came to my mind that I can do more than volunteering , spoke to the person in charge at Montgomery food Bank if I could start a food drive and he was receptive of my idea and gave me all the necessary material for my food drive.

I approached City of Shenandoah Police Dept spoke to Chief of Police Shaw and Assistant Police Chief Gresham, got permission from the city to put the bin in their city office. Thank you city of Shenandoah and especially officers Shaw and Gresham.

I have placed a bin from Montgomery Food Bank In City of Shenandoah office. We are collecting non perishable food. Items needed are breakfast items like Cereal, Peanut butter, Oatmeal and dry foods.
Please help for the good cause and tell your friends. I am also looking for places to put more bins.
