THE WOODLANDS, TX - Tropical Storm Imelda, which seemed to blossom from a Tropical Depression to a Tropical Storm in a matter of hours, will slowly be churning over The Woodlands area for the next few days.

Imelda made landfall over the Freeport area around 1:30pm today and is slowly making her way North, which will put her right on top of The Woodlands soon. The coastal regions have been placed under a Tropical Storm warning and multiple Flash Flood watches are in effect for the greater Houston area. Montgomery County is not under any warnings.. yet.

The Woodlands will start feeling the effects of Imelda this evening and for the next few days. The system will likely move out of our area by the weekend. Rainfall totals for South Montgomery County will range between 4'' to 8''.

As always, if you see a road covered by water, do not attempt to cross. Turn around, don't drown.

Please stay with Woodlands Online for more information and if any watches or warnings are issued.
