KLEIN, TX -- Weather pushed the District 15-6A matchup between Klein Collins and Oak Ridge from Thursday night to Saturday morning. Even with an extra day to prepare, the Tigers were just too much for Oak Ridge to handle on Klein Collins’ homecoming. Klein Collins’ steady offense and smothering defensive unit held Oak Ridge scoreless in their 35-0 win at Klein Memorial stadium.

Oak Ridge received the ball to start the game, but the offense failed to make any real progress with the possession. That would be the theme all game as it seemed Oak Ridge just couldn’t wake up and find a rhythm.

Klein Collins opened the scoring on their first drive. The Tigers went about 60 yards and finished with a 7-yard Braelon Bridges touchdown run. At the end of the quarter, Collins QB Colby Powers would sneak the ball in from the one-yard line for his first of two touchdowns on the day. Klein Collins would take a 21-0 lead into halftime after Jonathan Lewis was left wide open for a 40-yard touchdown pass.

The War Eagles continued to struggle in the second half. The offense was just stuck in place and the defense continued to give up long drives that ate up time. Bridges and Powers would each add another one-yard rushing touchdown to close out a one-sided game on Saturday morning.

Oak Ridge drops to 1-3 and 0-2 in the district for the year. Next Friday, the War Eagles will return to Woodforest to host Klein Forest at 7 p.m. That game will be a Woodlands Online on-demand game.
