THE WOODLANDS, TX -- After two seasons of hard-fought competition between Conroe ISD and Klein ISD schools, the new District Alignments from 2020-2022 have been revealed. This change will affect Football, Volleyball, and Basketball. New districts for other sports will be revealed at a later date.

Here the newly released UIL Districts for 2020-2020:

6A Football, Volleyball, and Basketball: District 13 - Conroe, College Park, Grand Oaks, Oak Ridge, The Woodlands, Willis.

Grand Oaks High School will be making their debut at the 6A level after being an independent in football and a 5A school in other sports. The big surprise to some will be the addition of just Willis in this district. Many predicted the space left by the Klein ISD schools would be replaced by Tomball, Tomball Memorial, Willis, and potentially even Bryan. However, UIL decided to pass on another nine-team district and only included Willis for 2020-2022.

5A Football Division 1: District 8 - Caney Creek, Cleveland, College Station, Lufkin, Magnolia, Magnolia West, New Caney, Porter, Waller

With Tomball and Willis leaving for 6A, Cleveland, New Caney, and Porter will claim District 8 as their new home.

5A Volleyball and Basketball: District 20 - Caney Creek, Cleveland, Dayton, Kingwood Park, Montgomery, Lake Creek, New Caney, Porter

A smaller district for 2020-2022 as Grand Oaks, Tomball, Willis, and Hunstville exit, while Cleveland and Dayton join 20-5A.

It will be a mixture of fresh faces and familiar foes for Conroe ISD schools starting in Fall 2020. As always, this area will expect to see some great games once again for the next two years, and you can be sure to find all the coverage here on Woodlands Online.
