THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Houston Methodist Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation at The Woodlands has opened a new, state-of-the-art facility to meet the needs of the growing community.

The new facility provides comprehensive services – in one convenient location – on the campus of Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. It houses a basketball court, full-length indoor pitching and batting cage, full-swing multi-sport simulator, Pilates reformer, outdoor sports and agility training field and robotic unloading devices.

Also, in the new sports services complex, patients can benefit from a variety of familiar services, including balance clinic, sports performance therapies, neuro rehab, cardiac rehab and pre- and -post cancer rehab – all under the care of a highly-trained team of physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists.

“Our therapists thoroughly evaluate our patients and create a customized rehabilitation plan using the most effective and progressive techniques, so the patient can confidently and safely return to the highest possible quality of life,” said Ben Renfrow, director of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation at Houston Methodist The Woodlands. “We have cutting-edge equipment and innovative new therapies that include virtual neuro rehab and pelvic floor therapy, among others.”

“We are proud of this new facility because it truly speaks to the investment we are making in the community. By thoughtfully placing all therapies and rehab offerings – physical, occupational, cardiac, neuro, speech and pelvic health – under one roof and on the hospital campus, we have made accessing expert care easy for our patients. And, keeping our patients are the forefront of what we do is always our mission,” added Trent Fulin, VP and chief operating officer, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital.

On Friday, February 7, hospital employees, members of Montgomery County’s local chambers of commerce and representatives from the Houston Astros and Houston Texans took part in a ribbon cutting for the new facility.

Houston Methodist Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation at The Woodlands will also act as a meeting place for upcoming seminars and support groups. Houston Methodist The Woodlands’ Stroke Support Group meets at the facility every third Wednesday of the month from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Anyone interested in attending these free support group meetings, should register at houstonmethodist.org/events.
