Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Answers the President's Call for Blood Donations

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - On March 31, 2020, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to host a blood drive as a way to give back to the community during this difficult time. The blood drive (which was planned before the COVID-19 Pandemic) was almost canceled. However, after the President and US Surgeon General stated that “everyone can do their part to respond to #COVID19. Part of preparedness is a robust blood supply”, Sheriff Rand Henderson decided that the blood drive must continue.

Since taking office, Sheriff Rand Henderson has passed on his passion for selfless service and giving back to the community through boots on the ground projects such as this. Today, more than 45 employees with the Sheriff’s Office answered the call to service and donated their blood. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center estimates that every donation has the potential to save up to three lives. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will continue to do its part to support our community in every way possible.
