Lone Star Family Health Center Welcomes the Conroe Family Medicine Residency Class of 2023

CONROE, TX – Lone Star Family Health Center is pleased to welcome the Conroe Family Medicine Residency class of 2023, whose physicians are all Family Medicine specialty and all Texas medical school graduates. The residents will receive full-spectrum “hands-on” training in a professional environment and learn to deliver cost-effective treatment while integrating the most advanced concepts in the medical field.

The Conroe Family Medicine Residency Program is a community-based residency affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare - Conroe with a long history of preparing highly trained physicians who practice in a variety of settings and calls Lone Star Family Health Center home. It is one of the original 11 Teaching Health Centers in Graduate Medical Education and 10 new resident physicians join the program each July.

As a Teaching Health Center in Graduate Medical Education aligned with a Federally Qualified Health Center, Lone Star Family Health offers a wide range of additional services which are integrated into our residency training.

Founded in 2002, Lone Star Family Health Center is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, Federally Quali¬fied Health Center with a mission to provide compassionate, affordable healthcare and prepare tomorrow’s family medicine professionals. The health center’s main location is at 605 South Conroe Medical Drive next to HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe with satellite clinics in Spring and Willis, Texas and the community of Grangerland. The newly launched virtual clinic in Huntsville underlies the Lone Star Family Health commitment to community outreach supporting the Walker County Hospital District.

Lone Star Family Health Center provides high quality, compassionate and individualized healthcare for individuals and families in our community. With a dedicated staff of family doctors and nurses, our team can take care of everyday health needs as well as more urgent issues.
Patient services include Family Medicine, Child & Newborn Care, Elder Care, Annual Wellness Visits, Sports Physicals, Chronic Disease Management and Stress Testing. Additional services include Digital X-Ray, Ultrasound and on-site Mammography, Laboratory Services, Exercise Treadmill, Spirometry, Mental Health by Licensed Counselors and an Eligibility Case Manager and Medicaid Worker.

Lone Star Family Health Center accepts most insurance, Medicaid CHIP and Medicare, has affordable self-pay options, and a sliding fee scale with eligibility
for the underinsured throughout Montgomery County and now Huntsville.

Leaders in the community, the Lone Star Family Health Center team actively supports community service events such as reduced cost school vaccine drives and health fairs.
