YES to YOUTH Cancels Second Major Fundraiser Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

THE WOODLANDS, TX - For over 40 years, YES to YOUTH has served youth and families in Montgomery County. Our donors and volunteers are essential to continue that mission. It is with all of you in mind that, together with the Gala Co-Chairs, and our Board of Directors, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Gala.

Throughout the pandemic, YES to YOUTH never shut down, and has continued to find ways to help our clients in need. Montgomery County has seen a dramatic increase in suicide, depression and anxiety, and we know that the intensity of the pandemic has created other traumas that will require intervention in the months and years to come. Our counselors are available 24 hours per day, and the shelter continues to house beaten, battered, and abused children.

Canceling the second, large fundraising event in the same year is scary, but the right thing to do for everyone involved. These fundraising events have allowed our shelter doors to stay open and our counseling programs to thrive. Although we will not see each other on a glamorous night of dinner and dancing, we need you more than ever. Please consider making a donation and know that your financial contribution is appreciated during this time.
